Arizore.com was registered in the state of Arizona in 2006 to officially launch the retirement of Larry Grenon. Larry enjoyed a long career in technology starting with a 5.5 year period beginning in 1960 where he repaired radar and missile fire control systems on F101 and F4C fighter aircraft. Following his US Air Force enlistment, Larry joined Motorola Semiconductor Products Division as an Electronic Technician working in an R&D environment. In this job, Larry developed equipment and processes for the manufacturing of light emitting diodes and other compound semiconductor and silicon devices. In 1973 Larry moved to Motorola's New Ventures Development lab as an engineer to pursue the development of silicon solar cells. This operation evolved into Motorola Solar Energy and eventually the Motorola - Shell Oil venture, Solavolt International. Larry held several technical management positions in solar panel assembly, equipment design, and system engineering areas. In these technical positions, Larry was awarded 11 patents and in 1980 received Motorola's highest technical award, the "Dan Noble Fellow" award, the Distinguished Innovator Award, and was elected to Motorola's Science Advisory Boards Associates (SABA) organization. In 1988 after the parent companies dissolved Solavolt, Larry began a project to automate the thermal testing of integrated circuits. This interim job led into joining the startup team that built Motorola's MOS-12 facility in Chandler, AZ. In this function, Larry championed the use of factory automation software and upon the completion of MOS-12 joined the Manufacturing Technology Group (MTG). In 1994-97, as a Motorola community service, Larry taught 5th grade science at the Hartford School in Chandler for two hours a week. Because of this activity he was awarded the Motorola CEO Volunteer of the Year Award. While in MTG, and because of his involvement with education, Motorola loaned Larry to the Kyrene School District to serve as its Director of Technology for one year. Following this assignment, Larry returned to the Motorola Patent office to lead each of the seven patent committees in the Phoenix and Austin, TX areas. During this time, he developed a software based system to manage patent applications throughout all of Motorola. In 2002, Larry retired from Motorola after 36.5 years of service. He joined the startup HVVi Semiconductor in 2003 as its Program Manager and retired again in 2006. He and his wife Sue now enjoy cool summers in Seaside, OR and mild winters in Phoenix, AZ. Thus the name, ARIZORE.COM. Effective May 2010, Sue and Larry elected to make Seaside their permanent home.
Over this 50 year career (OMG that sounds like a long time) in technology, Larry was part of the computer revolution, using the technology to automate equipment and to develop and use complex software to improve engineering and business processes.
Today, Larry remains active in technology by developing quality web sites in a timely fashion, and at an affordable price. What more can you ask of your web developer?
